Welcome to the site for the IIRS Endurance Championship
2010 will be the fifth season running Endurance and with some new
tracks coming we hope to for a brilliant season! Who will
be able to break through the Salas Racing Team supremacy?
Overview:
The endurance events are very different from the IIRS races.
A carset is used that is made to simulate real-life sports car
races with 40 cars of 3 different classes of cars on track together.
A complete zipfile to change your ICR2 game into a GTP
mod can be downloaded HERE.
Those who have raced in the Winter Series or the Survivor event
will know the drill.
The total race distance consists of an amount of laps, divided into 4
or more "stints" each. This is specified in the settings. Each stint
will be run as an
individual race, and will have a unique weather setting
to reflect the conditions for that time of day.
Teams can be made up of a minimum of 2 up to as much drivers as there
are stints for a race.
Racing:
Drivers MUST alternate stints. No driver should run two stints behind
each
other. The results of the drivers will be combined to make up the
overall time for the team. Each driver can use his own setup and
opponent strength for each stint.
The driver who qualifies the car must run the first
stint, and starts from the qualifying position he earned. This first
stint will have a pace lap.
For ALL other stints, the DRIVER MUST START FROM THE BACK OF THE FIELD
FROM A STANDING START (NO PACE LAP). As always, you must use the files
provided by the IIRS.
SCORING:
Teams will be scored first by the total number of laps completed, then
by time (the same as any other IIRS race). A default
time will be used for non-completed last laps. This enables drivers to
"unlap". The default laptime is available in the settings.
For easy recognition during scoring we ask you to put in your
driver/teamname in the drivers2.txt in CAPITALS.
POINTS:
We run both a Team championship and a Drivers championship, as
you're allowed to change teams during the season.
The points are counted the same as in the ICR2 game with 20 points for
the winner. Furthermore, points can be gained
for the pole position, the fastest lap and winning a stint. This last
bonuspoint is counted for the team and not just the individual driver.
PENALTIES:
Because the use of the prescribed files and weather are even more
detrimental to the fairness of the event than in normal races,
penalties must be somewhat severe.
1. Wrong number of opponents used: 2
LAPS penalty (for each stint with less than 38 opponents used).
2. Wrong drivers2.txt file: 2 LAPS
penalty (for each stint with wrong file used).
3. Wrong weather: 1 LAP penalty (for
each stint with wrong weather used).
4. No-show (one of your teammates
doesn't run one of his stints):
our team will be allowed one "no-show." In that instance, your car
will be placed 1 LAP behind the last placed team
for that stint.
5. Late Results: If your results are
not in by the time the scorers sit down to
compile the results, you will be given a "no show".
