I am new to this offline league and I didn't have time to race until now...(busy with iRacing :))
In the settings file it says that we race at the Glen track with Boot.
What does this mean? Watkins Glen from N2/99, Watkins Glen from N3 or Watkins Glen '67

I was discussing with a few racers about how cool it would be to be able to run against the guys we race in IIRS instead of the Indycar series. Not that I plan to replace the carset with an IIRS carset, but rerunning some of the races would be very cool.

Next to that we are working hard on the Hall of Fame site and part of that is going to be a (hopefully) complete list of all drivers who ever at least qualified for a race. That gave me a thought that it would be cool to have a screenshot of everybody car.

So my request is, if you ever started a race in IIRS, can you please send me your paintjob. Please use the Dallara carshape.

Alternatively, I realise not everyone has the painting skills to come up with a paintjob. You can also request a paintjob if necessary. I am pretty sure someone will pick up the challenge.

If you have already send your paintjob for last years IIRS 500 carset, just let me know.

I hope to see some paintjobs soon.

Hallo,
This is Infineon Raceway for ICR2. It consist of two version of the track: one that was used in 2005-2007 (Infineon1), second - in 2008-2009 (Infineon2). Difference is in turn 7.

To install track you need to extract Infineon_p1 and Infineon_p2 in to Tracks folder. After this go to 'Infineon' and run Switch.bat. Infineon1 will be istall, run again - you will get Infineon2. I don't make separate tracks because they are the same everywhere except t7, and I don't know how to name their folders :)

Now about bad things...
This track has few bugs. But it will not damaged your race if you are careful.
I used google maps to create track. I've tested track all the time during creation process, but I used only racing line and didn't run out of track at some parts. I noticed some problems when I start to work on AI. It was late to change anything so we have another buggy track from me.

Problems are after turn 7 and in turn 8 which are too close to dragstrip.
Infineon1 (2005-2007) has only one bad place - it is turn 8 (look at picture). Don't ride near the right wall there.

Infineon2 (2008-2009) is bad at both afte t7 and in t8. T8 has the same situation as in Infineon1. You should not ride near the right wall. Section after t7 is very bad. After turn 7 you should try to keep your car between left edge of the track and middle of asphalt! Racing groove is already there so you will not have problem when run alone. But on the formation lap when you start on the right side keep car closer to your opponent on the left through this section!

Try to run practice section to find edge of the bad zones. If you don't like Infineon2 you still can use only Infineon1, which is better.

Hello,

I view this forum often but don't usually post. There are a lot of knowledgable people here and I was wondering if someone can solve a problem I have been having. I have downloaded tracks from time to time and thank all of those skillful enough to make all of these wonderful tracks. I sometimes edit the track with my own mips, or change the pit positions in the .txt file.

My problem is this: Every so often I will have a track that will run fine in all modes- testing, qualifying, and practice. But when I am in the race mode the game locks up and just has a repeating engine sound. The track I am having a problem with now is the Meadowlands long street track (not the oval street track). If I have the pace lap on, sometimes it will lock when the green drops. If I don't have a pace lap, it will lock immediately after clicking on race mode. Does anyone have an idea what may be causing this?

I have been successful in changing the pit positions according to guidelines that I received here. I don't know if this is what caused the problem. I usually try to figure out what I changed and try to resolve the problem myself, but I have not been able to figure this one out. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks to all for the contributions at this site!

Hello, I am curious about pit road speeds in IndyCar Racing 2. Is it 80 mph on all tracks? Also, is there a way to change them? I read on Wikipedia that you can convert the pit.lp to a text file (which I have using the converter from the archives) and then edit it in there. However, I'm a bit confused on what to change. Anyone know how to change it? Or is it not dependent on track but by another file?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there,

Some time ago I made experiments with the gamepal.pcx file. I tried several darkening and brightening versions of this file.
It is included in the "main.dat" and I have concepted two newly named dat files and altered the ICR2 exe to use those colour changed versions. Unfortunatly both ICR2 exes are old 1.0.0 exe versions.
But still, give those two exes with the dat files a try.
On some tracks they look bad and on some others they look okay. It depends on the sunny.pcx of the track I think.
I did this because I didn't believe that only 256 colours are the limit of this game...

Maybe someone of you has an idea or knows better ways to change the gamepal.pcx?

BTW,
Tjerk... Will the dutch soccer team will win the FIFA WM in south africa???
