I was wanting to try to convert the GPL version of Motegi for use with ICR2 in case I can't Pavel's version to work on my computer (I hate to pester him considering what all he has contributed for ICR2) and to try to get experience for when I try to convert the new version of Detroit from GP3 to ICR2.
Now I have skimmed through the tutorial for GPL to ICR2 track conversion and it mentions a tool called GPL2TRK.
I went to the archives here and saw a tool called GPL2ICR2. Is that the same tool? If not, is there anything new I should know?
The .trk converter is named gpl2icr2 an is available at the archive/tools session at the HQ. I think Tjerk referred to it as gpl2trk instead to avoid confusion with the gpl->icr2 track converter by D. Noonan. Noonan convertes can convert the 3.do files of a track, but not the .trk nor the .lp files. So you will also need to use the LpConverter for a basic AI.
That one is better known as GPL > N3 converter. We used it to convert to ICR2 as well, as we usually work with a N3 base. Probably available at Mistycreeks site.
Question: I was going to use the GPL2N3 converter to convert Motegi. I don't have N3 so when I hit "Convert to N3," it can't find the directory to N3 and it won't convert. Do I have to have a working copy of Nascar Racing 3 for this to work?
